Jonathan Larsen, Citibank Singapore’s Country Business Manager and Chief Executive Officer, Head of Retail Banking and Business Development, Asia Pacific. As Head of Retail Banking for Citibank in Asia Pacific. Jonathan is responsible for Citibank's retail business in 12 countries across the region representing approximately $700 million in annual net income for Citigroup. Jonathan's responsibilities encompass Citibank's branch-based banking operations (including the CitiGold Wealth Management business), as well as personal loans, mortgages, and auto finance across the region.
In his Business Development capacity, Jonathan was Citigroup's principal representative in negotiating and executing the recently completed $2.7 billion acquisition of Koram Bank in Korea. Jonathan has been similarly involved in a wide range of other transactions over recent years including Citigroup's landmark strategic cooperation agreement with, and investment in, the Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, as well as the acquisition of the Diners Club of Japan Inc.
Prior to joining Citibank, Jonathan spent eight years with the global management consultancy firm Booz, Allen & Hamilton where he was a Principal in the firm's Financial Services Group. While at Booz, Allen, Jonathan advised major financial institutions across Asia, Europe and the United States on a wide range of large-scale strategic and operational engagements. Prior to working with Booz.Allen, Jonathan worked in a variety of positions within the Insurance and Banking operations of the National Mutual Group in Australia and New Zealand (now part of AXA).
Jonathan is a frequent speaker on financial services at industry conferences in Asia and is regularly quoted in leading business media (CNBC, Bloomberg, Asiaweek, Far Eastern Economic Review, Financial Times, and local business publications across Asia).
